I have created a petition to do Land Acknowledgments and teach native history in schools. Please help this important cause by signing my petition at this link! http://chng.it/b4cYYG8r
The reason I created this petition is because I think it is so important that the children of this nation learn about the history of the Indigenous people whose land they are living on. So far, I am working with board members in my school district, city government, and senators to advocate for this cause. I am trying to get schools to put up posters in schools (see example on the right) that state whose tribal lands the school is built on. We are also working to say Land Acknowledgments before assemblies and teach curriculum that thoroughly addresses Native history.
I have started a podcast where I interview prominent Native storytellers, activists, and social workers. If you would like to be interviewed, you can contact me using the contact form on the home page and I would love to have a chat!
I am a current intern with the Nakani Native program, a nonprofit that does fabulous work within the Indigenous community. Check out their website here: https://nakani.org/
I volunteer for Urban Native Education Alliance, an organization that works with local Indigenous families and youth.

I created this peition to do Land Acknowledgments in schools! This is very important because it is a quick yet effective way to recognize that we all live on Indigenous land and help educate students and staff about Indigenous history.
